Rognan Fjordcamp offers the discerning traveler/holiday maker excellent fishing opportunities together with beautiful fjord and mountain nature experiences. The campsite is to a high standard and enjoys high levels of ‘repeat business’ which is a sure sign of the value and comfort on offer here. It is FREE to fish in the fjord and there are innumerable good fishing locations both from boat (we rent out boats) and from land (about 10 minutes). Amongst the wide range of fish available are included Cod, Pollack, Halibut, Catfish, Haddock, Salmon, Sea Char, and for more see the fishing competition results
. . There are many superb recreation areas available that are easy to reach by boat, on foot, or by cycle.An annual fishing competition is run with a diploma and ‘prize cup’ for the winner in each category. The competition results are updated in reception as the year progresses
We have our own quay with easy access and provide our own ‘fish cleaning hut’. In the reception there are maps and advice available on the latest best fishing areas. It is free to freeze down your fish in our facilities. We offer 11 boats for hire: the ‘Alufish’ is a good powered seaboat and the ‘RanaPlast’ a good rowing boat. We also have some canoes and cycles for rent… The mountains lie just 500 meters from us in both easterly and westerly directions.Within 1-2 hours of walking the mountains you have wonderful views over the fjord, the town and the Saltdal valley. An area of outstanding natural beauty.Alongside the Saltdal river are many fine ‘country trails’ for walkers and cyclists
